TALENT SEARCH AND EMPOWERMENT (TSE) is a non-governmental organization which is independent, voluntary, non-religious, non-profit making, non-political entity and autonomous. TSE is a body incorporated under the provisions of the Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP. 318 R.E. 2002)and was officially registered on 11th day of April 2008 in Dar es salaam – Tanzania. 

Talent Search and Empowerment is uniquely positioned to enable the youths and other vulnerable groups be guaranteed of equal access to valuable resources and opportunities. Also Talent Search and Empowerment has the responsibility of imparting valuable skills and knowledge to the youths and other vulnerable groups for the sole purpose of creating an enabling environment for them to actively compete in the globalized labour market.

Due to the fast (technological) development and the abrupt establishment of schools, after the decolonization, many children lost their access to education and knowledge, whereupon informal knowledge has been discredited. A significant portion of children and youths in the so-called developing countries such as Tanzania, particularly those in low-income communities are not receiving the training they need to prepare them for their future. The majority of public schools do not have proper input of arts, music and computer training or internet access. This implies that the majority of youths have not been empowered with Information Technology skills and thus youth preparation for global competitiveness is still a dream and not something practical - like the ubiquitous inequality.

MISSION OF TSE

•To provide quality Arts and crafts skills to youth, orphans, vulnerable children and other members of the communities.

•To provide quality computer and information technology skills and knowledge to youth, orphans, vulnerable children and other members of the community.

•To give the youth, orphans and vulnerable children modern knowledge and skills concerning sports and games.

•To initiate sustainable programmes geared towards giving youth, orphans and vulnerable children the knowledge and skills concerning music and dancing.

•To establish vocation training centres where youths, orphans and vulnerable children will be imparted with modern skills concerning carpentry and Tailoring.

•To establish sustainable community and information centres where youth and other members of the community will be provided with both library and internet services.

•To establish sustainable music production and recording centres for Talented underground musicians/artists.

AIMS OF TALENT SEARCH AND EMPOWERMENT

•To promote and support the development of basic education.

•To establish and maintain children centers, schools and other educational institutions.

•To generate equality to access resources; in other words the empowerment of youth and children through searching and  promoting their talents.

•To promote self confidence for the vulnerable children and youths to develop their unique abilities, in order to strengthen their self perception in the development discourse.

•To assist and educate youths in all issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS, Drug abuse, sexual and reproductive health and  rights, social crimes and their  impact to youths so as to enhance their prevention.

•To promote the development of life and vocational skills for youths irrespective of their gender, religion, colour and station of life.

•To direct efforts towards emancipation of humanity from ignorance, poverty and diseases.

Thus the Talent Search and Empowerment Mission in Dar es salaam Region has  the blessings of  the central  Government and  that its objectives are fully realized as per the laws guiding the establishment of  Non-governmental organizations  and not otherwise.
